Sean was 12 when his STARCADE! show was taped in
July 1983 and he won an RB5X Robot ... one of the few we gave away on
STARCADE! The RB5X folks were a struggling company and ultimately
didn't survive. According to Sean, he never received the Robot but got
a bedroom set and luggage instead ... which he says he still has today.
Sean was an avid STARCADER! and watched the
show every day. He saw one of our "Call for Contestants" on
a show one day and took a chance. He got a spot on the show along with
his buddy, Mike Russo who was also a great player.

In his Tryout paperwork, Sean said he wanted to
be on STARCADE! to win a video game and be on TV. His favorite place
to play arcade games was the local 7-11, a bowling alley and a local arcade.
After the taping of his show, Sean sent us a
card saying, "Thank you for the wonderful experience of being on
STARCADE! You made me very 'happy.' I've always wanted a robot and a
home computer and it all came true on 7-21-83 when I won. ... Thank you for
making it so nice and 'fun.' I enjoyed watching how you film."

When he checked in, Sean told us exactly which
games were on his show ... and he remembered them all. "He said, "I used to catch the show
every day after school on TBS and called in one day to audition ... One of my favorite memories from the
show was being able to play unlimited free games in the back room that was
filled to the brim with all sorts of games, including Dragon's Lair which
was hugely popular at the time. I was a video game fanatic." The back
room was the second studio where the show began and was indeed full of video
games, all on free play.
Today Sean is a Network Administrator ...
meaning he's still into computers. Prior to that, he worked for America
Online and was a beta testor for video games. And, no, sadly he does
not still have the Aquarius Computer he won on STARCADE!
