Vidgamer72 ... When we were taping STARCADE! we were working with the video game manufacturer and, in some cases, their local vendor agent. They provided all the latest games and some in prototype ... we did not request particular games. We worked with the many that were sent ... and in most cases, put them all on the show. Exidy's Venture was not one of the games sent to the show for game play.

Hello Mavis and James, Long time fan. I am just wondering what ever happened to the original starcade props and what not. For example, that awesome neon sign? Do you still own it? Don't worry, not looking to buy it. Just truly curious if everything got liquidated or if some mementos still exist. Thanks, John

Hello Jim and Mavis and everybody else. This is Chris Kennedy. I am a dedicated member on here. I used to be known as plinkoplus on here. I loved starcade. Heck I saw it ever since I was an infant. LOL. Sharp memory huh! Hey Jim and Mavis, could you be able to put a timer track on your whole episodes you have posted so people could skip parts and catch whatever part they want. This way if people can't watch the entire show, then they can return to where they left off. Also Jim, Mavis, and folks. Your show inspired me to create a different idea for a video game game show titled "Video Challenge" hence what my screenname is named for. On my show contestants are called from the audience like price is right and answer trivia questions covering video games as well as a variety of other general knowledge subjects and play all kinds of video games, which is everything from classic arcade games to NES games to atari to coleco to N64, ps2, and Wii. Jim, Mavis, and friends let me know what you guys think. I sure would love to see starcade back and someday get it paired with my video challenge, if networks or syndicators are interested. I will continue to visit your starcade site frequently. I love it, and I'm posting for life. LOL. You're very kind. Take care. Wishing you all nothing but the best, Chris Kennedy P.S.-I am a game show host, I host locally that is. LOL. Plus Jim, Mavis, and Anybody, if you got any questions for me about this idea, please email me at, chriskennedyvideochallenge@yahoo.com Good night everybody and I bid you that all your worries get trapped. LOL. Take care friends.

Hi Mavis! Great to be here and meet you, if only online. I grew up high on a mountain in Vermont where we couldn't get cable, and on Monday mornings I would listen to stories of classmates from the valley who watched Starcade - with total envy. More than 25 years have passed since then and I'm happy to have the oppotunity to actually see the show! It's every bit as good as I remember hearing. So, thank you! Quick suggestion for you - perhaps with your featured show you could have a "beat the contestents" contest, by including java/shockwave-based emulations of the featured originals, timed in accordance with the show, and record the high scores for all to see. What do you think? Also I think it would be great to someday be able to buy the shows in total, as a DVD set, with extra features. The DVD could feature links to your website for more up-to-date information on contestents, t-shirts, etc. I'd also love to see a modern Starcade resurgence, esp. with all the buzz going on about retro-style games.. Hope Kevin and Geoff are doing well!

Hey Mavis and James, a suggestion. Why don't you add, either of the specials. With Track and Field or, Star Wars. Just a suggestion!

Greetings Jim and Mavis, I'm a huge fan of the classic arcade games from the '80s (my user name is a strong indicator of that!) and enjoy watching episodes of Starcade online. Although I was not alive during the golden age of video games, I will take the simple yet addictive gameplay of such classics as Q*Bert, Donkey Kong Junior, Asteroids, and Centipede over all the shallow, gory games of today. Anyway, I've got some questions regarding Starcade when it originally aired on TBS and syndication. 1. What kinds of ratings did Starcade have during its original run? 2. Why did you stop producing Starcade in 1984? I know that the arcade crash happened that year, but I'm curious if there were other factors involved as well. 3. Have any celebrities or notable people ever contacted you and said that they remember watching Starcade in the '80s? 4. On a similar note, how about the designers and programmers of these games? Any correspondence with them? Thanks for your answers in advance! I look forward to hearing back from you!

Hi ... Yes, we've considered a STARCADE! game and had some conversations with some major broadcast players about it ... but we will not do this unless we can maintain the integrity of the show. All STARCADERS! have a major investment in the show - and we would never do anything to disappoint the many fans the show has all over the world!

Hello Mavis and Jim, thank you so much for this website! STARCADE! is an amazing show that truely captures the video game history at its core! I love the show and I love Geoff Edwards! I'll play him in Sinistar any day!:) I hope he is doing well:) Silly question but you guys ever consider a STARCADE! video Game? Ironic I know. 3D arcades are growing big time online!..and have come a long way...design your own lay out, game cabs and game artwork all is rendered already.(for archive purposes only)check out 3Darcade.com or U-tube 3D Arcade if interested to see what they look lik, if you havnt seen already. Retro games just keep growing and growing, as is starcade.tv, and a well done STARCADE! game(with Geoff and Kevin recording new voice if possible-and where you can play all games that were ever on show, and also be able to play the actual game show)would take all of our breath away! I would even give you guys design ideas for free!, and im sure many other game designers and developers would step forward as well. Take Care and thank you for your time "and until next time may all your troubles get zapped!" a new Starcader, Darck

We have thought of several different ways to air STARCADE! on broadcast TV again and we have been approached by several broadcasters ... but our vision for STARCADE! goes beyond just airing the existing shows. We appreciate your thoughts on this. It's fans like you that will help us bring STARCADE! back the way it deserves to be seen.
